Omania E-Commerce LLC (OEC), the leading e-solutions provider in Oman, is sponsoring
the e-commerce category of the third Oman Web Awards, which will be held mid March
2008.
“As the leading e-solutions provider in Oman and an active and major contributor
to Oman’s drive towards a digital society, we felt that the Oman Web Awards initiative
is very much aligned with our vision” Sheikh Mohammed Al Harthy, Managing Director,
OEC said.
At present OEC offers a range of innovative e-Solutions in the areas of e-Procurement,
e-Government, e-Security, e-Learning, Document Management System and Integrated
Portal Developments.
“Sponsoring the E-commerce category of Oman Web Awards is based on OEC’s belief
in the importance of dynamic websites in e-commerce.” Sheikh Mohammed added. “A
website represents a company in the cyber space, thus it serves as a strong marketing
tool plus a front end to service customers. It is also a way to reach beyond limits
in terms of place and time. To achieve the goals of a website, usually high standards
are set in terms of layout design, information architecture, users-orientation,
interactivity and functionality; these are essential elements we consider when developing
portals of our clients.”
OEC depends on a young Omani team to develop the websites, which complies with its
mission to foster and develop young Omani professionals. Moreover, it has established
strategic partnerships with various leading e-solution providers from the region
and internationally. Together with its partners OEC is geared to offer turnkey e-solutions
to clients in Oman.
The Oman Web Awards is a member of the Pan Arab Web Awards (PAWA)
which was created to recognize excellence in web design and development skills to
showcase their creativity in a competition for the best website in the Pan Arab
Region. The main objectives of the Awards are to promote the spirit of innovation
and creativity, raise the standards of web designs and web development services,
and encourage all sectors to become involved in the digital economy. OEC, on the
other hand, is a 100% Omani company and was established in 2005 with a vision to
become the leading e-solutions provider in Oman, as well as an active and major
contributor to Oman’s drive towards a digital society. Its mission is to provide
clients with quality value added solutions that maximize the client’s efficiencies,
benefits and competitive edge.
In line with its vision, OEC is looking to capture
the growing e-solutions market within the country and the region, by offering a
range of innovative products and services. The solutions provided are in the areas
of Portal Developments, e-Procurement, e-Government, e-Security, e-Learning, and
e-Consultancy with a specific focus on system integration, infrastructure outsourcing,
managed services, e-Government services and e-Payment services.
